ADI's 40th General Technical Conference

Initially, Analog Devices engaged Stagedge to support the GTC’s 40th annual in-person conference before the COVID-19 pandemic. With global health concerns on the rise in early Spring 2020, ADI and Stagedge collaborated to transform the live event into a unique virtual experience.

Challenge

The global pandemic caused by COVID-19 created massive disruption to the planning of all live events in early 2020. The primary goal for ADI’s growing General Technical Conference was to transform critical communications programming from in-person sessions to immersive virtual experiences more akin to a television broadcast. The experience needed to be easy to access, seamlessly executed, and provide meaningful interactivity between presenters and the virtual audience.

The virtual event was to be hosted on a custom branded webpage, rich with video-on-demand training, and outbound links to deeper learning tools.

Stagedge Solutions

Our nationwide network of partners combined with our video producers, web developers, and production team collaborated directly with the ADI team to outline a clear vision, develop an aggressive project plan, and execute a seamless virtual event.

Through world-class project management tools and on-demand communication with our virtual event experts, The ADI team was able to provide real-time feedback on website development.

ADI’s senior leaders were welcomed into our social-distant, constantly sterilized virtual event stage, where our production team and video producers worked with them to deliver engaging presentations to multiple HD cameras.

Outcome

Over 2 days, keynotes were delivered from Stagedge's virtual main stage, with attendees invited to submit live questions. 18 interactive workshops were simulcast, allowing attendees to pick and choose, even toggle between, "breakout sessions". Award recipients were recognized live on tape. Papers/demos were pre-recorded and available on-demand while entertainment and promotional announcements aired during breaks.

"Going Virtual" allowed ADI to offer GTC to a wider audience, and the 2020 edition reached 5000 attendees, doubling last year's previous peak. The 2-day live event was viewed in 31 countries and generated 14K "video views" of live content. With on-demand content still available, the show's impact can continue indefinitely.

Analog Devices has relied on Stagedge for our internal worldwide general technical conference for 40 years. While their support and creativity have always been phenomenal, this year they outdid themselves.
